Me, Citizen of European Union project is a joint initiative of organizations, local governments, and partner cities, promoting the exchange of experiences regarding the richness and diversity of the common heritage of the European Union among citizens of different countries. The aim of this project is to raise awareness of the importance of strengthening the European integration process based on solidarity and EU values. This goal will be achieved through the implementation of the following activities: study visits to each partner country, i.e., Poland, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic, which will include youth workshops, Open Space for Europe Debates, cultural events/festivals under the slogan Identity and Culture in the European Union in the Light of the Principle Unity in Diversity, and a conference summarizing and disseminating the project in the Czech Republic. The target group consists of project participants from each partner country and residents of small towns, regardless of age, young and senior, working and unemployed people, entrepreneurs, representatives of non-governmental organizations and local governments, social activists, migrants, people of various denominations and religions, nationalities, women, and men, etc. Project activities will give its participants the opportunity to have an international debate on issues related to the European political agenda. Important issues will be discussed, including the migration crisis, global climate change, and citizenship in the EU. The decisive need for conversation and debate on problematic issues, especially in the face of threats of war and refugee policy, times after the pandemic, global climate change, rampant inflation in each country, gave rise to the idea to implement this project on a transnational basis, and the enormous benefits resulting from strengthening the integration process under the project will serve as an example of good practice.
